When i launched PlanitPDQ, planning and tracking marketing efforts was complicated, time consuming, and fractured. My idea was simple – make it easier to manage your marketing tactics so you could spend time on growing your company.
A team of talented software developers and enthusiastic clients helped bring that vision to life. We built something that didn’t exist, and filled an important need.
Since that time, marketing technology has grown by leaps and bounds. Content management is so much easier with tools like SmartSheet, Asana, Clickup, and Wrike. It was tempting to continue to iterate – this was my baby!
But why did I create PlanitPDQ in the first place? To make marketing easier.
Is it really easier to ask companies to adopt another tool when competitors’ marketing tools were rapidly iterating to fill these needs and more?
At the end of the day, I’m on the side of progress. I’m grateful for the experience of creating something that helped so many. And I’m delighted that I can recommend other toolsets that are better, faster, and committed to investing in ongoing iteration.
For those who have and love their PlanIt, it will remain there for you (and of course you can always export it to a .csv file to import into another tool). For those who have found a more comprehensive tool for your stack, I fully support you.
Our work here is done – and our lives are better.
May the wind be at your back. And thank you for your support and for your joy in marketing.
